Something New is Brewing ☕️ 📈
Introducing After Earnings: a groundbreaking new show host by Austin Hankwitz & Katie Perry in partnership with Morning Brew
Welcome to another edition of the Roundtable Roundup! As our early subscribers may remember, Stakeholder Labs created this newsletter to help establish more dialogue around corporate ownership, marketing, and investor relations, and that effort has evolved into an incredibly exciting new initiative.
This week we’re thrilled to introduce After Earnings, a groundbreaking new show in partnership with Morning Brew offering retail investors a fresh, in-depth look at public companies and the executives who lead them. This program represents a natural progression in our mission to help public companies measure and increase shareholder engagement and we're looking forward to expanding our reach and impact through this new platform in collaboration with leading industry voices.
After Earnings: The First Step of a Retail Investor Program
Over the last year, Stakeholder Labs has been working with Investor Relations teams at public companies to build retail shareholder engagement strategies. One thing is evidently clear: public companies want to prioritize engaging their retail investors but there isn’t a clear entry point for getting started. With institutional investors still commanding the most influence over capital markets, the perceived risk of diverting limited investor relations resources to activate the ‘long-tail’ of individual shareholders is a challenge in a rapidly evolving industry. This feedback led us to formulate an accessible, cost-effective, and manageable platform to kickstart a retail investor engagement strategy that can reach a wide audience and serve as the groundwork for a broader IR digital transformation. After Earnings is an exciting opportunity for public company CEOs to connect more directly with the modern investor. This multi-platform show, hosted by Austin Hankwitz (Witz Ventures) and Katie Perry (formerly Public.com), promises to transform the traditional nature earnings call into an engaging and informative dialogue that is distributed to millions of potential individual investors.
Austin Hankwitz, known for his top-ranked finance podcast Rich Habits, Rate of Return Substack and influential social media presence, brings his expertise and insights into the evolving stock market dynamics. Witz Ventures is also an investor in Stakeholder Labs so the strategic alignment couldn’t be stronger. Austin has witnessed firsthand the shift in the market, influenced by a diverse new wave of investors and changing investment styles. His unique perspective will illuminate the intricacies of these changes and their implications for public companies.
Katie Perry, an industry-recognized expert in brand strategy and retail investor engagement, adds depth to the show with her experience as General Manager of the neobrokerage Public.com. Her understanding of the investor community and the democratization of capital markets will provide viewers with a nuanced view of the investment landscape.
We’re also thrilled to be partnering with Morning Brew on production and distribution, a media company redefining the business news landscape through approachable, digestible—and at times—downright funny content. Across newsletters, podcasts, social media, and events, Morning Brew reaches audience of over 5 million future and current business leaders. The Roundtable Roundup previously highlighted Morning Brew for their recent interview with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The first 2 episodes feature Matt Meeker, co-founder & CEO of Bark Inc. and Ryan Barretto, President of Sprout Social. Next week’s episode will feature John Finley, CEO of Celsius Holdings which has experienced a 50% increase in stock price in the last 30 days surrounding their most recent earnings call. As part of the After Earnings show appearance, Stakeholder Labs provides companies with social listening, reach and sentiment data to measure the impact of their communications strategies. For public companies and their C-Suites, media appearances of this nature are not just about checking a box - according to research by the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC), stock prices increase when CEOs discuss strategy publicly so After Earnings is well positioned to be a vital destination for companies eager to reach a highly engaged retail investor audience. Please enjoy the first two episodes of After Earnings, and as always, please let us know what you think about the show or would like to suggest a company to participate.
